The Free Range Cow
Where's the beef? In our freezer. Dad and Mom recently took one of their small cows in to the butcher. Well, it turned out not to be so small, it weighed 900 lbs. Okay, technically, that is a small cow but when you are splitting that much between 6 people it is actually a lot. They were generous enough to give all of us a freezer full of beef. We have about 40 pounds of hamburger, tons of steaks, roasts, sausage and patties. It is nice knowing that you are eating a 'free range' cow...no pink slime in our hamburger! Next time you come over, I am quite certain we will be having some type of beef!
There really has not been anything exciting on our end. Daniel keeps amazing us every day. Just hearing the different squeals every morning definitely puts a smile on our faces. He is up a lot more during the day and impresses us with his smiles and 'vocabulary'. Every day he is doing new things such as grasping our fingers and toys and seeing new objects. Just the look of concentration he has on his face when he is looking at our patterned shirts makes us laugh! Speaking of seeing new objects, he now has found the video camera and camera with his eyes, which means when I pull it out he stares at it and his smiles disappear! He is much more interested in the camera than us, so we haven't been able to capture as many smiles.
Daniel is half rolling over. I keep telling him that he is strong enough to roll the complete way but so far it is just his upper half that he gets over and his belly and legs seem to stay. He really isn't one to do much work! He absolutely loves standing. He still loves standing in his exersaucer and now he is actually starting to play more with the toys attached. He is such a joy! We love his chunky little butt so much...our little moose. He is also growing, a lot. The daycare lady told us to bring in size 2 diapers because his little butt is too big for the size 1 diapers. That probably explains why I find his clothes wet...what a noob Mommy I am! He is pretty much out of 0-3 month clothes. It was hard to pack it up. His onesies seemed to have big gaps between the buttons and we would have had to cut the feet out on his sleepers. His 3-6 months clothing is big around his tummy but the length is already starting to get a little tight!
Daniel also does a lot of artwork during daycare. I have to scan what we've brought home so everyone can see our little artist. Sounds like he is taking after Jason! Don't even get me started on how much he looks like Jason! I sometimes call him little Jason junior. No, I am not mad or sad about that fact that he really looks nothing like me. I know some moms try so hard to find something in their children that takes after them, but I can say that is not me!
Just an update from the last post. I called the nurse Monday morning who told me that I needed to get to the emergency room, so I did. The doctor's were a little perplexed. They thought I had an allergic reaction to lobster and also bells palsy or possibly lymes disease. My face didn't droop so they thought maybe just an allergic reaction to lobster but they thought it was odd that I didn't have the reaction right after eating it. So odd. They did tell me to go take a bite of lobster again just to see what happens, since my reaction was not life threatening. I am doing fine now though!

Do you think his eyes will stay blue?
