April Fool's Day Bathroom Renovation!
Friday was April Fool's Day which I love because it means it is April, otherwise known as my Birthday Month (Sweet!!) and also because it is a way to get Jason riled up and actually have an excuse! How does this work? Whenever I say anything to Jason, I end it with April Fool's! Here's an example: "Hi....April Fool's" "How are you?....April Fool's" "I'm doing a bathroom renovation.....April Fool's" and so on and so forth from the time I get up (4:30a.m.! to the time my head hits the pillow). Yes, Jason gets a little annoyed after hearing April Fool's after almost everything I say. Soon, he'll be hearing "but it's my Birthday Month" followed by a pout. My parents and siblings did warn him who he was marrying, so I figure he was forewarned about what he was getting into marrying me :)
If you were reading this you will have noticed I told Jason via phone that I was doing a bathroom renovation, of course when I heard him say WHAT!?! I quickly said April Fool's. Well it wasn't an April Fool's at all, I actually was installing a new vanity. We had a pedestal sink and have always talked about putting in an actual vanity with cabinets for storage and a little space around the sink to put items and not having to settle them at a weird angle so they wouldn't fall into the sink or fall on the floor. I happened to be at the Home Depot and saw a vanity that I really liked on sale, so I said heck with it, lets buy it and install it.
Now, I wasn't unprepared at all. I actually watched one youtube video on how to install a bathroom vanity. After watching that one video I knew that it was a piece of cake, so out to the Home Depot to pick up my supplies. The vanity was heavy and I had to get it into the car, out of the car, up stairs and into the bathroom all by myself.

I didn't tell Jason anything about it and he didn't know until he was walking into the bathroom when I heard "What the BEEP is this?" That is when I was getting scared because I knew that wasn't a good sign. He did like it after a few hours of looking at it. All of our fixtures are dark so I thought the espresso wood would look really nice since the tile is so light.
If you are thinking about doing this yourself, just do it! If I can do all the plumbing and fixtures by myself, then you can do it too!
What do you think?
