Thank You!
I wanted to post a huge thank you to all our wonderful family and friends. We cannot express how much we really appreciated all the cards, gifts and food. We have the most generous and loving family and friends possible. We never imagined that bringing home a baby could be so much work and so exhausting and we would have never survived without your help.
A special thanks to the following:
Mom: Thank you for the hot dish, cookies, lunch and made bars for the Reid gathering.
Grandma: Thank you for the apple crisp and brownies.
Sarah & Kevin: Thank you for the Chinese food. It makes me hungry just thinking about it!
Joe & Sharon: Thank you for the hot dish, salad with croutons, buns, chicken soup, wild rice soup, fruit and carrot cake.
Jerry & Carole: Thank you for the groceries and making a delicious supper for us.
Aunt Margie: Thank you for the pizza.
Bev: Thank you for the hot dish.
When you are just surviving and not really living it was such a HUGE help to not have to worry about what we were eating. Most days the one and only meal we would eat was the delicious food that everyone brought over!
The first two weeks with Daniel I think Jason and I were on a 'baby high'. We would get two hours of sleep at night but felt fairly good during the first two weeks. We didn't take naps because we had to do laundry, dishes, vacuum, dust...you name it and we were doing it. Every time I would try to shut my eyes my brain was going through the million things I should be doing, but I had gotten two hours of sleep so who needs a nap!
It was after the second week that the sleep deprivation really hit us. The two hours of sleep at night and no napping really caught up with us. Plus, Daniel decided that was the week that he would scream for hours and nothing could stop him. It was probably the most miserable week ever.
So, THANK YOU to all of our family and friends for understanding that we could not hold a conversation in our own heads, let alone with anyone. Thank you for understanding that we were so exhausted that we may not have shown our appreciation as we wanted to. That is the great thing about true family and friends, they completely understand when you are not showing your best side. When you are at your worst you really find out how people feel about you :)
Thank you and we love you all so much!
