Thanksgiving! Gobble, Gobble!
Happy Thanksgiving to your family, from ours!
We hope that you ate enough food on Thursday. We know that we consumed way more calories than a normal human being should be able to devour in one day!! I will admit though, I was having dreams about Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans and cranberries a week before Thanksgiving. I was very ready to start chowing down as soon as mom was done preparing the food…okay, so I had to do a little taste testing in the kitchen!!
We went to my parent’s home on Thanksgiving. As is tradition, Jason made the green beans while mom made everything else before we were even in the front door. Mom made the Turkey, mashed potatoes (although I finally did get to mash them this year), gravy (I did get to mix the flour in and stir it), corn, 7 layer salad, Jello, rolls, sweet potatoes, two pies and of course pickles and olives. Matthew did bring a home cooked pork roast, which was delicious. Boy, was I ready to eat at 12:30pm.
Afterwards we played games until around 7:00 pm. It is so much fun playing games and a Norstad tradition. I have to brag; I have a really fun family and would not trade them for anything. After the rounds and rounds of games, we decided to hit the living room and go through Black Friday ads!! Usually we do lists, but mom said no, so we could only “throw” ideas out for each other instead of writing down what we wanted….it is fine for me, but not so much fun if your memory isn’t the best!! We ended up leaving around 8:00 pm and were finally home by 9:00 pm. I was exhausted. Who knew that eating large quantities of food, playing games and searching through ads was so much work? I wish I could get paid for it!!
Jason and I are so thankful for all of our family, friends, pets, home, vehicles, careers and God! Not necessarily in that order ;)
