The Ladies Club!

Nicole started a Ladies Club with my aunts and cousins on my mom’s side. The first get together was in January or February for High Tea. We are all required to wear a hat and you can either dress up or dress down. We sipped tea (actually I had the caramel latte with whip cream and caramel drizzled over it), ate finger sandwiches (raddish, cucumber and egg salad), scones with lemon curd and clotted cream. It was so much fun. We discussed books that we were reading or had read. We could also bring books for others to read. Grandma brought a book and Nicole had a few at her house. It was such a fun get together.

Since everyone loved the High Tea at Nicole’s, she had everyone over again for Wine Tasting Saturday. It was such a blast. It was fun to find out how many women enjoy a glass of wine, and which ones do not. I thought that was a great experience because I am typically not a blush or red wine drinker. I do not have the acquired palate for the darker, richer wines. I have never sat down with a glass of red wine and really used all my senses to really truly enjoy it. Nicole had two white wines, one blush and two red wines for all of us to try. Again, we all were required to wear hats for the tasting. My hat was broken, I think Sampson chewed the ribbon off of it, but luckily Nicole had a really cute hat for me. I was told I either looked like a hippie in the 60’s girl or a southern belle. I like to think southern belle I will admit, my hair looked darn cute that day. It is getting so long! It is about my mid back, so I like to straighten it and curl it. Okay, enough about me!

Jennifer hated any wine. She is definitely not a wine drinker. She put gross for all of the wines. I was actually surprised with Dawn. I really didn’t know that she liked wine as much as she does! I don’t say that because she drank two bottles but honestly, she really did like most of them. Grandma would take a tiny sip and that was it, too much for her to handle! I started to like the red wines the more I tasted them, but again they weren’t my favorites. I think the others agreed that red wasn’t their favorite either.
