Movie Review!

Since there does not seem to be very good t.v. on recently, not even in our DVR, we decided since there was a blizzard we might as well drive around in it and go get some movies! Why is it that whenever there is a blizzard that is the time when Jason wants to run around the time? Maybe because I was driving and he was sitting comfortably in the passenger seat?

Our friend, Glen, had told us that he watched the movie 30 Days of Night and thought it was great. He said it is definitely a psychological thriller and since we love horror films we thought this would be a good one to rent. As we walk around blockbuster trying to find the movie, Jason comes across this really spooky movie called Joshua. The cover looked creepy but since he read the back of it and wanted to get it, might as well. I was up for a little scaring last night.

Of course, I also came across Becoming Jane. I have not seen that yet, but I love Jane Austen, so I think when I am done with work at around noon today I will run home and watch it before Jason gets home.

Back to the movie reviews, we picked up Joshua, 30 Days of Night, Becoming Jane and Beowulf (I think it was because “Angelina Jolie is so hot” type thing but I don’t see it).
We get home and put in Joshua. Lets just say this is not the type of movie Jason thought it was going to be about. I still can’t figure out how the movie was different than what he allegedly read about on the back of the DVD box. (That is me basically saying he didn’t read it!)
Lets just say, after that film we both decided we are not going to have children. Jason wanted to be cruel and send it to Sarah & Kevin, since they have a one month old boy.

This movie was about this 9 year old boy, you can tell he is different in a creepy way. Well, stop here if you want to rent the movie….he might have drugged his mom so she was sent into a psych ward, he pushed his grandma down a flight of stairs and she died, and threw himself down stairs etc. to get bruises, so when his dad wasn’t sleeping because of his little sister, his dad got really upset with him because he was being a complete little brat and slapped him in front of a crowd of people and was charged with abuse (all the bruises he caused himself and he blamed on his father). He did all this because he loved his uncle and wanted his uncle to be his father. Very slow moving and creepy. You have to see it if you don’t want kids!!

Okay, next movie, 30 Days of Night. Horrible ending, but otherwise very creepy. Lets just say that I will not be venturing into Alaska when they have 30 days of darkness! If you like horror movies, and Josh Hartnett :) then I would really recommend this one. Not good for kids!!

I will have to update you when we see Beowulf and Becoming Jane.

Have any of you seen any really good movies that you want to share?? We love watching movies….
