The Bun in this Oven is Halfway Done!
Jason and I went to Reidstad's 20 week ultrasound on Friday, September 30th. We were both excited and a little nervous. We wanted him to be completely healthy and we were so excited to finally see him again. Seeing the blob at 12 weeks or so, really doesn't count as seeing a baby!
The ultrasound tech looked at his brain and all his organs. She said everything looked really healthy and normal. She also said the heart looked healthy but they couldn't get a good picture of the four ventricles because he would not move. They tilted me back because by doing so the baby usually moves and then they can get a good picture. He did not move, he's stubborn like his Mom and Grandpa....a good Norstad quality to have :)
His heart beat was 136 bpm. His head is down and it looks like he's already in the position, ready for 20 more weeks to go by so he can get the heck out of dodge. That doesn't remind me of Jason at all!
Here's his profile picture:

When it came time to tell us the sex, we decided just to find out. These last 20 weeks being pregnant has really made me impatient. I always thought I wouldn't find out, but now that I'm expecting my mind changed and I really wanted to know....as did Jason. I have heard from many people not to find out and then there were those that did find out who said we should. Sorry to disappoint anyone that didn't want us to find out, but we did. I was not surprised or shocked at all. I knew from day one that it was a boy. I don't know how anyone could even doubt me :) Jason said he thought it was a girl, because statistically there are more girls than boys. Mom STILL thinks it is a girl (/sigh). Dad thinks it's twins but finally guessed it was a boy. Nicole thought it was a girl.
If the ultrasound tech would have said it was a girl, I would have told her flat out that she was wrong. As I mentioned, from the moment I found out I was pregnant I've just had this strong sense it was a boy. Even though I've always wanted a little girl, I've had ZERO inclinations that it was a girl. I've only seen blue in my future.
Once this baby boy Reid is born there will be no more pressure to have the Reid heir. Jason only has two boy cousins that could continue on the name, so there was very little pressure for us to have a boy!! :)
I am so excited that it is a boy. I make pretty good car and train noises. Now if only February would get here already!
