Start! Heart Walk - Mission Accomplished!

Nicole's employer, Ecolab, participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk on April 26th. Yes, that was my birthday, but I decided instead of being a spoiled brat, I wouldn't just sulk at home about getting older, I would actually go out and try to make a difference in the world. I know, doesn't sound like me at all :) Anyways, Mom, Nicole and I headed out early Saturday morning to walk for a great cause.

The weather was an interesting combination of sleet, snow and rain, but we were undaunted! I think the temperature was around 30 degrees. It definitely felt more like December! But, being the tough Minnesotans we are, we dug out the winter coats, hats and gloves (actually mom and Nicole dug out the winter coats, hats and gloves...I came with my spring jacket and luckily mom had some gloves for me, but isn't that her job really??)and headed for Harriet Island.

Unfortunately the nice man that took our picture thought he should take it a mile away. Mom and Nicole were glad that you couldn't see a close up because, lets be honest, they didn't look so great. They said it was because it was taken after the walk, but they looked pretty tough before the walk too :) I, on the other hand, looked wonderful. I was hoping it was a close up. My hair looked darn good and my makeup didn't even smear :)

The City estimates that 20,000 people attended the walk which is an awesome turn out! Thank you to everyone who donated to Nicole and supported a great cause!

I am on the left side, Nicole is in the center (you can tell because she is short) and mom is on the right side of the photo.
