Two Month Check-Up!

I forgot to mention that the pediatrican answered a few questions that some of you had about Daniel.

First, the pediatrician said that he was actually the cutest baby that he has ever seen :)

Okay, on to the real answers.

1. Hunter green poo is absolutely, 100%, normal! You would not believe the shock of opening up his diaper and seeing that. I was a little concerned but the pediatrician said it is very normal for a baby.

2. The little bump that you feel on his chest is actually cartilage. The doctor said that a baby's stomach sticks out so much that it makes the cartilage pop out but once they get older and their belly doesn't stick out that it goes back down, just like an adults. He said that this happens to every baby and he hears that question from every parent.

3. The little redness that is on his right eyelid is a birth mark.  At the hospital they said he was birth mark free, but maybe they didn't notice his eyelid. The doctor said it should go away in a year or two.

4. Daniel was spitting up a lot and the daycare lady said she thought he might have acid reflux. The doctor said he might so he put him on medication. I just love how you don't need any proof that he has acid reflux or heartburn, just put him on medication. I will say that it seems to help him though. Apparently, it sometimes takes a baby a little while for their muscle to work properly but the doctor says every baby that he has seen that has had acid reflux it goes away before they turn one.

Daniel is starting to talk...well, baby talk, which means we have no clue what he is saying but we just go along with it. I swear that I did hear him say "Mom" one day though! He is really starting mimic us also. If you smile, he'll smile. If I stick my tongue out, he tries to stick his tongue out.  Speaking of smiling, he smiles probably 80% of the day! He is just getting cuter and cuter. He is trying to walk. He gets a little crabby when we don't hold him and let him stand...he could do that all day!

He is really starting to see our faces. He loves just staring at us and smiling. He is also actually getting into his toys! It is fun to see him look at a toy, as if it were brand new, and here we have been trying to get him to play with it for two months! He also loves the iPad educational/interactive apps on there for babies.

Some of his 0-3 month onesies no longer fit. It seems as if the Gerber onesies are all really short now. I guess it is time to pack those away and get out his 3-6 month outfits. All of the other brand of onesies still fit him. His sleepers are starting to get short too.

I think that is about it for now!
