Happy Birthday!

Frosty the Snowman was alive as he could be.....whenever I think of Happy Birthday and I say it in my head just like Frosty the Snowman said it.  I know, it is weird.

If you have felt a) the commentary on the Reid blog has really been horrible, I swear she only has 5 minutes to write a blog AND b) does she just type everything out and then throw in random pictures, this makes no sense at all? You would be absolutely correct. Usually I write a blog in my head while I am trying to go to sleep. Just last night I was thinking about how I was going to blog about how I write a blog in my head.

On April 26th, Thursday, I turned the big three zero. Yep, that makes me thirty or rather in my thirties. The time since Daniel has been born has just flown by. After the first two or three weeks I figured it would slow down but it has just been even busier and we are constantly on the go. How busy are we? We bought our van two weeks ago last Saturday and have put on 600 miles! I filled up the tank Friday morning and by Sunday afternoon we had driven 350 miles and had to fill it up again. After all this go go going I actually almost forgot about my birthday /gasp! It took me about 30 minutes after waking up to remember that it was my birthday.

Did I mention that my Mother almost did not wish me a Happy Birthday because she didn't know how I was taking turning 30? Yes, I am so old I think I am going to have a midlife crisis any second now :)

To celebrate, Jason took me out to Wiederholt's in Meisville. Grandpa and Grandma, along with Aunt Nicole, babysat Daniel. Jason loves the prime rib at Wiederholt's. He says it is the best prime rib he has ever had! Going to Wiederholt's was a treat for both of us. I had two lobster tails and two glasses of wine.

While we were enjoying our dinner we received this text from Grandpa:

Yes, that is Daniel in a dress. Actually it was my dress when I was a baby. Grandma thought it would be cute to dress him up. I did tell them that this would be the last time they babysat him! They didn't really take that threat seriously. (Did I mention that they bought bottles and formula so that he could be over there more often without us worrying about packing bottles? /rolls eyes I'm sure it is more for sleep overs. Dad said that Mom just loved when he stayed over night.)

After dinner we were on our way back to Dad and Mom's when I noticed the right side of my bottom lip had a twitch and my right eye felt limp. I thought it was because I was feeling the effects of the wine. I have not had liquor in almost a year so it made sense that I would really be feeling two glasses of wine. Other than that I just felt tired, but I get pretty sleepy after drinking wine. We picked Daniel up and headed home. I went to bed a little early because I had to get up early to go to work.

When I woke up, I looked like this:

It may be hard to tell, but I don't actually look like this every day! My eyes and cheeks were very puffy and I had red marks all over my face. I had absolutely no clue what could have caused this. I have had lobster before. I LOVE seafood. I have never had an allergic reaction before to anything but I am quite confident that it must be an allergic reaction to the lobster. Being 30 sucks! Happy Birthday to me, indeed!

Jason kept feeding me Benadryl yesterday. He gave me two at around 2:30 and by 3:00 I was out like a light. I slept until 6:15 and then went to bed at 9. This morning my face is not quite so puffy but my skin feels so raw. My tongue does not seem to be swollen and neither do my lips, just from my cheeks up.

This morning I woke up and noticed I had hives or a rash on my neck, chest and shoulders. I took a picture just for everyone to see :) It is a little hard to see in this photo but it is all red and blotchy. It feels a bit itchy too. My makeup brush felt like pins on my face.

Well, this will definitely be a birthday I will never forget!
