Christ(mas) Day!

We were up really early this morning. Okay, Jason was up at his regular 4:00am but I was up around 6:00am which makes it really early for me, especially on a day that we do not have to work! Santa was way to generous this year. We opened our stockings and opened gifts this morning. We jumped in the shower and headed down to my parents for Christmas.

We were supposed to go to my parents the weekend before Christmas but we had a huge blizzard with a ton of snow so we did not make it down there, so we decided to do Christmas with them. Mom made a wonderful meal. Instead of the usual, we had prime rib and boy was it delicious! I could have had a second piece but I was so full I couldn’t do it. We opened gifts, Matthew was pretty excited to open them, as he is every Christmas. I thought that would stop when he grew up, but he is always the first to get the present opening started!

I don’t think I could list everything that I got because it was WAY too much. New clothes, perfume, jewelry, games etcetera etcetera etcetera (that is from the movie the King & I!)
Right after mom started making more food. She really loves to keep us fully the entire day! We had some snacks and had to break open the new games. Nicole received the game Singing Bee, if you watch t.v. you know what it is, if you don’t here we go…It is a game, well a dvd game and you have teams. Your team either has to sing the last few words of a song, unscrabble the words to a song or possibly fill in blanks to a song. It was fun, buy why does Matthew know every song in the whole entire world? We cannot play any movie game, sports game and now singing game! He knows them all…

We headed to the dining room and opened my games. The first, you put a piece of paper to your forehead and had to guess what the item was, it could be a person, place etc. That was fun! It was difficult but fun. The next game from Santa, although it looked like dads writing, was a game where the reader would read down a list of sentences and one person had the be the first person to guess what it was. So, if you had to guess Apple, the sentences would be 1. It is a fruit 2. It is red in color etc. and then the first to guess would win…some of those were hard.

We had such a blast playing games. We played late into the night and then headed back to good old Saint Paul. Off to bed, we will have to see what time I get up to go shopping tomorrow! Merry Christmas!
