Snow!

This is a weather update! Does that not sound professional? I think so too. Well, the snow was not as bad as they were predicting, luckily. Although, normally I do love snow, I do not like driving it and I have found out that I do not like shoveling 10″ of snow! This is how it goes: I slowly walk to the back door all the while Jason is cheering me on with the typical “You can do it, Lindsay!” He does not like shoveling either but I think he bears it as long as I am out there miserable helping. I get my shoes on, he hands me my coat with a big grin on his face, but I see nothing to be chipper about. He opens the garage door and hands me my shovel. Yes, we both have our own shovels, but I should be happy because I get two and he only has one, but I am not because his shovel is the nicest shovel out of all of them. His shovel will scoop up 100lbs of snow and it feels as though you are lifting Sampson, our 20lbs Beagle! My shovel, or should I said shovels actually add weight to the snow. I know, sounds unbelievable, but I will scoop up maybe 5lbs of snow and it feels as though I am lifting a car. I just don’t get it.

Anyway, on with the story. My job consists of sweeping off the porch and shovel around the porch stairs and everything from the porch to the garage, but only half of the garage because my DH (dear husband) shovels the other half and the mile long driveway we have. He is usually done by the time that I get my 9×9 square done. Then onto the sidewalk. Once done with that, here is the odd part, he always, and I mean ALWAYS hands me his shovel. Why? I have no idea. We are both walking back to the garage but yet I have to carry both of our shovels. I suppose I should carry his nice, wonderful shovel since he did most of the work, you may be saying to yourself, but I think I actually do most of the work. Sure, technically I do a smaller portion of the driveway, but literally the small section I do is more because my shovels are worthless.

Our house and yard looks wonderful though. What is Christmas without the fluffy white stuff covering the trees, lawn and roof?
