Movie Review "The Dark Knight"

[Worth Seeing] Click here if you haven’t heard about The Dark Knight. We both liked The Dark Knight. If you liked the first Batman movie, where it is a lot darker than any other Batman has been, sticking with the comic book, then you will also enjoy this movie. We went about two weeks after opening night. It was still really busy in the movie theater. We didn’t think we would go to the theater to see this movie, but with all the hype we figured we better see it in the theater, with the big screen and surround sound and strangers pushing against your chair. The last few movies there have been teenage girls at the very back of the theater giggling and talking loudly, finally someone told them to be quiet. I was ready to stand up and say something a little less polite. I didn’t pay $20 to see a movie only for a few teenage girls to ruin it.

Okay, getting back to the subject of the The Dark Knight. As you may know, the Joker, played by Heath Ledger died in January/February(ish) and since then there has been talk about how great he portrayed the Joker and he should be receiving millions of Oscars (blah blah blah). Lets just say it was WAY over hyped. He did a nice job playing the Joker but I didn’t think it was outstanding. I didn’t think Heath/Joker was as dark as the media portrayed him to be. Warner Brothers also advertised Batman having conflict between staying "good" or going "bad". I did not feel that in the movie. I always felt that he stayed on the "good" side even when bad things happened to him. It was a very long movie, 2.5 hours and AT LEAST 30 minutes could have been chopped off the movie. But it is Batman after all, so you must at least rent the movie.
